Nati Canto

In her kitchen-studio, Nati Canto (SP, 1982) seeks to subvert traditional culinary practices and principles, exploring and transgressing these norms daily. Her work uses food symbolism as a metaphor for the body, as well as its digestive processes and life and death cycles, in order to touch upon the complexities present in current sustainability policies. This immersive practice allows her to discover unexplored territories of artistic expression through cuisine, expanding and frictioning the boundaries of both fields. The artist participated in the 13th Mercosul Biennial and her work is part of public collections, such as: Fundação Cultural João Pessoa - FUNJOPE, João Pessoa, PB; Museu da Imagem e do Som - MIS-SP, São Paulo, SP; Itamaraty - Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Brasília, DF; and Instituto Figueiredo Ferraz, Ribeirão Preto, SP.
